Rand Native Gospel Mission (RNGM) was started in 1899 when a group of believers from a few local New Testament Assemblies decided to get together to help; encourage and educate men who were involved in local assembly work on a more full time basis. RNGM served only what was then known as the Transvaal area. In 1915, RNGM merged with AOT (African Outreach Trust) and became what was known as RGM or Rand Gospel Mission. At this point the reach of RGM became more national however mostly still focussed on the Transvaal area. In the 1990’s, RGM made several transformational changes and now not only having a fully national footprint but also expanding to most of Southern Africa. In 2001 RGM also absorbed TMF (Transvaal Missionary Fund). The operational format of RGM has largely stayed the same since 1995 to present times.
· The local church commends, releasing to service those whom God has called and prepared for this task.
- RGM does not place, control or direct missionaries.
- We believe that SHARED accountability still rests fully with the COMMENDING ASSEMBLY and the LOCAL ASSEMBLY OF FELLOWSHIP, and that the freedom in service of the MISSIONARY should be exercised with responsibility.
- RGM will seek ONLY to BRIDGE the GAP between Missionaries and Local Assemblies.
- RGM is a ministry of faith and we seek to be true to this principle. While the functioning of RGM is COMPLETELY dependent on gifts of Local Assemblies and Individual from Local Assemblies.
Meet the RGM team who prayerfully carry out the work to the glory of God.
